Condition-allergic conjunctivitis
A patient recently reported charge or $100+ for bottle of cromylyn eye drops at chain drugstore store. Medicos has been repeatedly visited by manufacturer's representatives touting various "new" eyedrop formulations with little added benefit, but the cost of these new preparations has been over $70.
Medicos staff have located generic cromoyln eye drops for $10-20 per bottle. A trial being initiated. More to follow. Nashville, tell me if this is something that would be helpful for your patients? Other OTC options are Visine-A, Naphcon (amazingly no longer present in the Monthly Prescribing Reference- I sense BigPharma at work).
