Bill:
I had presented everything but I need clarification about what it means "Externally validated". I have my activity from the University: 256 C-Sections in 5 years and some 170 vaginals if we include vacuums and forceps. Do I need my FM program Director to validate it? or the Chairman of the OB department at my hospital? or the Chairman of the FM department?

Fellowship group--Here is the complete process for obtaining access to the American Board of Family Medicine Obstetrics[ABFMO]-- with websites. Until 2018, ABFM physicians with five years of experience and at least 100 sections can challenge the test if they have documentation.
Currently the major advantage to this credential is the ability to function as an OB-Gyn internationally. Basically this certification has allowed some of us to obtain hospital privileges in countries where "GP's" are not credentialed for work in the hospital.
Also this credential may be helpful in certifying completion of fellowship level training for those hospitals that need an additional reason to be "family medicine" friendly.
