Dr. Rodney:
It was my great pleasure making your acquaintance. I thoroughly enjoyed your discussion about residency programs, and was glad to hear your insight about the future of family medicine. It is inspiring to meet others who are interested in serving the Latino community in the United States and abroad. I am still trying to figure out my place in this big and confusing picture.
You mentioned a learning opportunity that I want to taken you up on. I think in this ephemeral life it is important to learn as much as you can. Attached is an abstract from the AAFP conference as well as a preliminary paper. I need very much to work on the methods and results part, as well as discussion and conclusion. I've never written before so please exhibit patience with me. I appreciate your time and efforts in aiding my long journey in medicine.
Hope you are well.

Igualmente. The health of the profession and family medicine depends on published scholarship. Medicine cannot succeed without thoughtful physicians who take the next step to become published authors. Authorship is a time consuming process. Nice job on getting started with a manuscript using the submission form for presentation at a national meeting as the beginning. Survey research is one of the most difficult to achieve, but you can do a lot of good things with the experience. One of them is to publish several prelude papers on the way to the final manuscript. A large amount of the work has already been done. Let me offer some suggestions.
Create a manuscript simulation:
Title Page with working group. Currently you are lead author. Others may be added later. Number all pages following this page.
Abstract one page
Introduction which you have done. Convert appendix into "bibliography " and annotate those statements to which each bibliography item applies.
Methods--attach the survey instrument
This prelude will be necessary to fantasize results, their format, and then decide on the difficult process of statistical analysis. For example, it is helpful to create phantom tables demonstrating how you and your coauthors think the eventual data would be best displayed.
It is acceptable, and probably desirable, to write several papers with the first one entitled "Design Issues in a Community Survey for Malaria Risk in Honduras."
Revise and let me see it.
If your school will allow a clinical rotation in Memphis, housing and expenses will be supported.
With best wishes for your professional success,
